Can I have some coffee with my sugar?

If you like candy - you'll love DD coffee

For many of you that grew up on the east coast in the 80's and 90's, your coffee away from home was probably brewed by Dunkin Donuts. During my pre-coffee passion years, I continually thought Dunkin Donuts with cream and sugar was the "Gold Standard" of the coffee world. As I progressed throughout the years with an advanced palette for coffee,  (call me a snob) I soon realized Dunkin was in the commodity world of coffee, based on the inferior quality beans and consistent brewing metrics in their stores. Let me say that again, "inferior quality beans, hidden by consistent brewing metrics".  They hide the lesser quality bean by consistent operational procedures - hat's off to the Ops team!

After seeing the insane amount of sugar added to the coffee when you order "cream and sugar" I wasn't surprised when I read this headline below.

Woman Sues Dunkin Donuts over sugar in coffee

It's not the fact that they mistakenly mixed up the sugar and artificial sweetener. It's the obvious wheelbarrow size portion of sugar used in the process. Dunkin Donuts is not at fault, it's just the overwhelmingly way they mask what coffee is for the folks that don't know any better. I have a lot of friends that includes Dunkin in their morning routine. That's ok, I understand - 'nuff said. Dunkin Donuts has a certain flavor that people enjoy and have for more than 30 years. All I ask is to think twice about adding the sugar bomb in your cup - your waistline and potential diabetes oncoming will thank you.
